Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital

2 Leighton St, Leeds LS1 3EB, UK – 0113 388 2000

I had a mild heart attack in December 16 and was treat at Pinderfields who did a wonderful job and I was back up and about. However, after four months the symptoms reappeared and I went to my GP who referred me back to NHS. I received a letter saying it was 6-8weeks for an urgent case. I spoke to my health provider who got me an appointment with a consultant at Nuffield in two days and I went to see him and he diagnosed possible re-narrowing of the artery. I was given the pre-op assessment while I was there and booked in for the procedure in two weeks.I then received a telephone call to say a space had become vacant on Monday so from consultant to procedure was six days . I arrived on the Monday at 3 o'clock and was greeted in reception and then taken to my room where everything was explained. From then on everything moved smoothly and I was back in the room by 7 o'clock with the procedure complete. I was monitored overnight and at 10 am was released. I cannot thank them enough for the efficient service which I received and the staff were so professional and caring.

LGI is one of the leading centres in the UK for neurosurgery, and one of 10 centres in the UK for Pediatric cardiology. It has a rooftop landing pad for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service. In 2010, all children's emergency services were moved to a dedicated children's emergency department at LGI, which has meant that the emergency department at St James' Hospital is now only for adults. The Care Quality Commission (the successor to the Healthcare Commission) rated Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Fair for 'Quality of Resources' and Fair for the 'Use of Resources'.

Local hospitals - community hospitals and hospitals with A&E departments for LS9.

The new NHS website below is very well worth a look. Hospitals are not only listed but evaluated. I certainly know which ones I would go to! At the very least you will know what questions to ask if you are sent to one which has not entered its data. Good luck!
