Leeds Building Society

105 Albion St, Leeds LS1 5AS, UK – 0113 225 7555

Leeds Building Society is proudly a mutual society. Owned by their members, the people who have mortgages and savings with them. If you’re used to dealing with the banks, this might sound revolutionary, but it’s how they’ve worked for 140 years. With all that experience, they know exactly how to design financial products to meet the ever-changing needs of their members’ lives and all the little surprises life brings.

I have always been satisfied with the service they have provided me.

Yorkshire Building Society

Friendly,trustworthy staff.

Local Chambers of Commerce for LS9. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!
Civic Hall

Calverley St, Leeds LS1 1UR, UK – 0113 222 4444

Lots of history. 2 recent events, a conference and a Leeds council event. Both events were well organised by the backroom staff and the catering was good; varied & enjoyed by all. As a venue to host events, it's different to the usual corporate venue, having lots of history and being an impressive building.

Was here for the LEEDS light show absolutely fantastic such a wonderful building love the architecture x

Leeds Town Hall

The Headrow, Leeds LS1 3AD, UK – 0113 378 6016

The town hall is classical in style but baroque in imaginative power and drama. It stands squarely at the top of a flight of steps (altered from their original shape) on a mound made specially for the purpose. The whole facade is made of giant columns and all the sides reflect that pattern. The central portico has ten huge Corinthian columns. Then there is an immense frieze and rising above it all the central tower, 225 ft (69 m) high, which was not in the original design. The Victoria Hall rises to 92 ft (28 m) inside the parallelogram of surrounding rooms and corridors and the enclosing colonnades. The carving of the tympanum over the front entrance represents Leeds encouraging the arts and sciences. The four Portland stone lions on plinths along the frontage, modeled at London Zoo, contrast with the sandstone of the building itself. The town hall provided accommodation for municipal departments, a courtroom, police station or 'central charge office', and a venue for concerts and civic events. It still has a role as a council office, although many departments have been relocated. The principal performance space, the richly decorated Victoria Hall, is a venue for orchestral concerts. Its concert organ, the largest three manual example in Europe, is used for lunchtime organ recitals.

Great sized function room for our annual visit for Ginfest. Good location, plenty of facilities close by, and a truly striking building. Love sitting on the steps out front watching the world go by.

Dental Surgeries

Aesthetique Dental Care

21 Wharf St, Leeds LS2 7EQ, UK – 0113 245 8066

Dr Hamid and his team were extremely friendly and very helpful. The service that they provided was excellent – giving thorough explanations of all options at the outset, providing fantastic results and also offering attentive aftercare once the treatment was complete. On top of all that, it was all done in a friendly atmosphere that made visiting these guys a pleasure. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

I just want to say a HUGE thank you to Dr Hamid and his team for giving me back my smile! From my initial enquiry, through to the end of treatment, the entire team have been nothing but the perfect blend of professionalism and kindness. I opted for the “Six Month Smile” fixed braces, after Dr Hamid explained the advantages and capabilities of the different orthodontic options. Although I was a little worried about being an adult with braces, they were very discreet (so much so that many of my students didn’t even notice!). I also made use of their finance options, which made the cost of the work extremely manageable (especially with a wedding on the horizon!). Getting appointments to fit in with my work schedule wasn’t an issue, and the on the street parking at their new premises made attending appointments a breeze. All the staff are friendly and caring, and I felt comfortable and looked after at every step. Finally, the work itself is faultless! My teeth look better than I could have ever imagined; the confidence they have given me can be seen in all my wedding photos, making the treatment worth every penny!

mydentist, Selby Road, Halton

192 Selby Rd, Leeds LS15 0LF, UK – 0113 260 0192

So far I've had very decent service. Phonelines are very easy to get through, reception staff and dentists very professional and helpful and very considerate if you have additional illnesses and complications. I recently had an abcess and rang in the morning desperate for an emergency appointment and was seen 4 hours later. They managed to reduce the pain and booked me in for two weeks time for further treatment. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Only downside I could see is that as they are quite a small practice they may not be able to take in large quantities of patients. So if you get in with them, keep hold of them.

mydentist, spencer place, chapeltown

Chapeltown Medical Centre, Spencer Place, Leeds LS7 4BB, UK – 0113 249 9487

The receptionist is very friendly and approachable and I have never had any issues or concerns with the practice. There is only 1 dentist here but she is also very professional, tentative and friendly. It is a small dental practice and would love to have a small area that children can play at to keep them occupied while they wait. Other than that, it is good place to go with adequate parking spaces.

Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital

2 Leighton St, Leeds LS1 3EB, UK – 0113 388 2000

I had a mild heart attack in December 16 and was treat at Pinderfields who did a wonderful job and I was back up and about. However, after four months the symptoms reappeared and I went to my GP who referred me back to NHS. I received a letter saying it was 6-8weeks for an urgent case. I spoke to my health provider who got me an appointment with a consultant at Nuffield in two days and I went to see him and he diagnosed possible re-narrowing of the artery. I was given the pre-op assessment while I was there and booked in for the procedure in two weeks.I then received a telephone call to say a space had become vacant on Monday so from consultant to procedure was six days . I arrived on the Monday at 3 o'clock and was greeted in reception and then taken to my room where everything was explained. From then on everything moved smoothly and I was back in the room by 7 o'clock with the procedure complete. I was monitored overnight and at 10 am was released. I cannot thank them enough for the efficient service which I received and the staff were so professional and caring.

Leeds General Infirmary

Great George St, Leeds LS1 3EX, UK – 0113 243 2799

LGI is one of the leading centres in the UK for neurosurgery, and one of 10 centres in the UK for Pediatric cardiology. It has a rooftop landing pad for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service. In 2010, all children's emergency services were moved to a dedicated children's emergency department at LGI, which has meant that the emergency department at St James' Hospital is now only for adults. The Care Quality Commission (the successor to the Healthcare Commission) rated Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Fair for 'Quality of Resources' and Fair for the 'Use of Resources'.

EMR Leeds Knowsthorpe Way

Just been in a the lads couldn't of done more for me, offered the best prices locally, turn around was quick and helped me unload on to the scales. I'd heard tales of the yard being a mess but I was impressed with how clean it was when I arrived. They've set me up with an account so now I can use any EMR yard in the UK brilliant stuff, will definitely be using again.

Meanwood Road Recycling Site

Meanwood Rd, Leeds LS7 2LP, UK – 0113 262 1106

Billy always help us unload the car (My husband is 88 and disabled). He's so friendly and helpful. We don't have to do anything, he knows where everything goes! All staff at Meanwood are brilliant too. Recommended. Update: This site now charges to dump rubbish! Blame Leeds City Council who are not fit for purpose. The charges are beyond ridiculous.

Been to the tip a lot lately as had a lot of work done at home. The staff couldn't have been more helpful particularly Billy, Gary, Tom and Taj. On numerous occasions they helped me sort and carry the heavier waste and were really pleasant.

Revive IT Recycling (Leeds)

7-8 Buslingthorpe Green Industrial Estate, Leeds LS7 2HG, UK – 0113 262 1392

Great service from start to finish, emailed them, answer straight back saying they could take all our old IT equipment. Date arranged friendly driver collected. received all paperwork. Very good and easy company to deal with. Highly Recommended

Excellent service all round. Phone response was friendly and efficient with a collection (free) arranged within a week. Their friendly and polite driver, Daniel, arrived in a Revive liveried van and 22 computers were cleared in a matter of minutes. Would highly recommend to any business looking to dispose of all that old kit that's been lying around for years. They certify data destruction as well, so no need to wipe the disks first (even though I did!)

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Lovey place, went for a birthday meal. Three of us were seated in a booth and looked after well. They even happily (and quickly) catered for friends who arrived after we had received our mains and they had their food quickly. Will definitely return.

First time here. Lovely restaurant. The meal was fantastic. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again.

21-22 Park Row, Leeds LS1 5JF, UK – 0113 246 1777

Great food, great service when it's not too busy

Visited for a birthday meal. Phenomenal customer service. Quality of food was supurb. Would recommend for an occasion. Although expensive they offer a pre theatre meal that was approx £25 per head for two courses before 6pm. We did not order from this but food array looked great.

Bill's Leeds Restaurant

1 Albion Pl, Leeds LS1 6JL, UK – 0113 245 2010

Food here is very great, and quite inexpensive. Waitress was very attentive. Puddings are super nice!! Don't know whether this is normal, but also for two tokens for half price mains during our next visit. Only downside was that there was no lager on tap when we visited - was broken.

When visiting Leeds, I always try and have my breakfast hear. Lovely staff, with great food and excellent service. Food is fresh, tasty, and good quality. Highley recommended.
